Our Quartets

In addition to singing with our chorus, some of our members perform and compete as quartets. If you need someone to sing for a party or social gathering, they would love the opportunity to sing for you!

Wink takes first place at the 2019 North by Northwest Region 13 Competition

Wink is the current Champion Quartet for Region 13 of Sweet Adelines International. They will be competing at the 2019 Sweet Adelines International competition in New Orleans, LA!

Tenor – Kay Keating sang with a regional champion quartet called Frenzy and competed with them twice in International competition, finishing 8th and 4th. She was a member of the Lions Gate Chorus in British Columbia for many years. A native of Canada, she now resides in Bellevue with her husband, Dan. Kay completed her BA degree and currently works as a surgical nurse in the cardiac operating room.

Lead – Melanie McGuire has been a Sweet Adeline with the Olympia Chorus for more than 26 years. During that time, she competed with three different quartets, winning five top-five regional medals. She is the former director of the Puget Sounders, is now co-directing the Seattle SeaChordsmen and is an assistant director for the Olympia Sweet Adelines. She has two amazing sons and one extraordinarily ferocious and fluffy guard cat.

Baritone – Megan Hofkamp joined Wink in February 2019, is a 3rd generation barbershop “brat” (she’s sweet, though. We promise)! Her grandfather, Maurice, was a long time member of the Two town Tuners and her mother, Julie Hagstrom, is a renowned lead in Sweet Adelines. Megan has been an “official” barbershopper since the age of 12 and has been in 2 regional champion quartets (Yahtzee and Wink) singing baritone. She has a wonderful husband named Dan who is one of Wink’s coaches and another barbershopper to boot! They live in Marysville with their beautiful daughter, Gracie, and 2 kitties.

Bass – Connie Alward joined Wink in February 2017. She’s no newcomer to barbershop, however. She dove into this craft with Sweet Adelines at the age of 14 and is currently director of Sweet Adelines Grand Olympics Chorus in Port Angeles. She has sung lead and bass in numerous quartets over the years, and is the newest member to Ovation, Sweet Adeline’s Region 13 Champion Quartet Club!
