Our Directors

Jack Anderson (Co-Director)

Jack has directed Olympia Sweet Adelines since its inception.  He studied and played violin at the young age of 6 years old.  In 1968, Jack sang baritone with the very entertaining quartet The Artesians for about 10 years.   They won the Evergreen District title in 1972 and competed in 3 international competitions.  For many years he directed a local men's barbershop chorus called The Puget sounders, until he became Director Emeritus.  He continues to direct his church's choir.  Jack's talent contributes to the fact that OSA remains a solid, entertaining, and exiting chapter whose members value their participation and the love of their director of 40+ years.

Dottee Rambo (Co-Director)

Dottee Rambo joined the Olympia Sweet Adelines in June of 1968.  After a breaking-in period, she served as Bass Section Leader for several years.  She also acted as Section Leader for each of the other three sections occasionally.  Around 1985 she became Assistant Director of the chorus and Associate Director in 1990.  She became a Sweet Adelines Certified Director in 1996 and co-director of the chorus, with Jack Anderson, in 1997.  Since she became a co-director, the chorus has earned 3 fifth-place medals, 4 fourth-place medals, and 5 third-place-championship medals in regional competition.  Her dream is for the chorus to earn 600 or more points in competition – both for the members and to earn her a Master Director award.  In her very first regional competition as a director, Dottee won Novice Director for the highest placing chorus with a first-time director.  This truly was one of those once-in-a-lifetime chances, and the Olympia Chorus gave it to her!  Dottee has competed with four or five quartets, with the highest placement being Novice Quartet and fifth place with Rainbow Jubilee.  Quartets are fun, and she encourages every member to become part of one.  She still misses quarteting, but says her schedule is just too demanding to allow time.  Sweet Adelines holds a very special place in her heart and in her life.  She’ll be forever grateful that she joined.

Mary Neff (Assistant Director)

Mary has been a member of Sweet Adelines for 29 years, all of it with the Olympia Sweet Adelines Chorus.  She has been an Assistant Director for over 10 years and is a Certified Director through Sweet Adelines International.  Over the years she has served in other musical leadership positions such as lead section leader and baritone section leader, and in administrative leadership positions including President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary/Communications Coordinator, and a Board Member.  Mary got "hooked" on barbershop harmony from the moment she attended her first Olympia Sweet Adelines Chorus rehearsal over 29 years ago and has loved every minute of it since!

Linda Wells (Assistant Director)

Linda was trained in the 1970's as a Music Therapist, but life took her in a few other non-musical directions until she landed in the Olympia Sweet Adelines Chorus in 2001.
